The weekend
So after doing various odds and ends Saturday and going food shopping, I headed down to Seaside to wander, eat and sit by the beach for a while.
This was primarly because I was going to a digital graffiti show (temporary graffiti produced by digital projection) further up 30-A and if it were canceled for rain, I wanted to get some fun out of driving that far. So I sat, had loose-leaf tea and a great chocolate-chip cookie in a coffee shop there, wandered through Sundog Books and generally relaxed.
Good thing, since when I reached Alys Beach, it turned out they weren't running the show, so I sat around for a while (in case the weather improved), then left. Stopped in Barnes & Noble on the way home, which helped justify the trip (no purchases, just browsing).
Sunday, watched a disappointing adaptation of Thorne Smith's Turnabout, went to brunch with Dad, then spent the afternoon reading, cooking and discovering how to transfer stuff from my DVR to my VCR (taping something for a friend). In the evening, had an almost four=hour talk with TYG, who was a bit bummed about some stuff (I hope it helped a little).
This morning, a trip to the Zoo being ruled out by weather, I watched a couple of Hammer films from a collection I just bought (Brides of Dracula and Curse of the Werewolf). This afternoon: Off to a movie (probably) followed by reading and odds and ends this evening.
